Apply for our help

Am I eligble?

The ABS can help you if:
You or someone on whom you are directly dependent is working or has worked in architecture in the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man (in a role directly related to the design process)

This includes (but is not limited to) architects, assistants, technicians and technologists, and landscape architects, and their dependants.

Each application for help is individually assessed and awards are made based on the personal circumstances of each applicant.

How do I apply ?

To apply for our help

  • Call us on 020 7580 2823 and ask to speak to a Welfare Officer
  • Email us at help@absnet.org.uk
  • Write to: Architects Benevolent Society, 43 Portland Place, London. W1B 1QH

We will ask you to complete a short form giving details of your circumstances and current income and expenditure. All applications for help are treated confidentially

Once this is received you will be visited by one of our Welfare Officers and a decision will be made by the Case Committee.

However, in urgent cases we can process applications very quickly and, if necessary, make emergency payments immediately.

What kind of help do you offer?

The range of help offered by the ABS is very wide indeed.
Whatever your problem, if you think the ABS may be able to help, or you know of someone else who may need us, please tell them to contact the Society.

More details, along with individual case histories, can be found on our What we do page
