RIBA Past President, Sunand Prasad, has succeeded Ken Shuttleworth as the Architects
Benevolent Society President. During his two year term Prasad hopes to raise the profile of the Society amongst working architects and to encourage an even greater degree of cooperation between the ABS and the institutions whose members it helps.
Immediate Past President of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects, Dawson Stelfox, has been recognised by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects for his fundraising support of the ABS over several years.
On the weekend of the 18th and 19th of June, Dawson Stelfox, RSUA President, and a team of nine staff of the Consarc Design Group successfully climbed the county tops of Northern Ireland.
The ABS is grateful for assistance received from the ARB, CIAT and the Landscape Institute, as well as RIBA, RSUA, RSAW and the RIAS.
The Society has been fortunate in the amount of financial support and publicity that it has received from various regions, branches and individual members.
With the fears that the full impact of the recession has still not hit, the construction industry is already reeling from the economic downturn; this event looks at how to survive.
Unable to manage in a large house Peggy moved to the Society’s sheltered accommodation, after her husband died in 1983. He had been a partner in the Guildford firm Lewis and Hickey where he had worked for 48 years.
