Help from the Institutes and the ARB

The ABS is grateful for assistance received from the ARB, CIAT and the Landscape Institute, as well as RIBA, RSUA, RSAW and the RIAS.

The Society has been fortunate in the amount of financial support and publicity that it has received from various regions, branches and individual members.

The ABS helps architects, assistants, technicians and technologist from all over the country. We are particularly grateful to everyone who works hard to raise the profile of the Society at a local level.

It is not just chartered or registered architects that are eligible for ABS assistance, but also assistants, technologists and landscape architects and their dependants too. This is why we try to foster links with all of the professional bodies whose members we can help.

New CIAT President Mark Kennett said in his inaugural speech that “I want to see our members realising that they are key professional members of a construction industry team.” The ABS is pleased to support those members of CIAT who are experiencing difficulties. We are also grateful for the financial support received from CIAT each year.

The ABS attended the Landscape Institute Annual Conference for the first time recently. Several news items about the Society have been printed in LI publications. Director General of the LI, Marion Bowman says “It makes sense for us to publicise to our members the availability of help from the ABS for those experiencing illness, accident, bereavement or other personal misfortune.”
