Immediate Past President of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects, Dawson Stelfox, has been recognised by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects for his fundraising support of the ABS over several years. Previously he has climbed Mount Everest for which he was honoured with an MBE. He has chosen to use his love of mountain climbing to lead a sponsored team up 7 peaks in 9 counties in 24 hours - two of these Irish peaks straddle two counties!
Dawson and a group of fellow climbers conquered 6 peaks to raise money for the ABS in 2009. We wonder what his next idea could be?!
Outgoing ABS president and leader of Make Architects, Ken Shuttleworth designed and painted the award platter presented to Dawson at the WCCA's sumptuous Election Court Dinner which was held at the Worshipful Company of Salter's Hall. The Salters' Company has its origins in the salt trade of medieval London. Ranked number nine in the order of precedence, it is one of the Great 12 Livery Companies.
