ABS can complement, but not replace, support from your local and or health authority. This support could include help with funding equipment, care costs or transport costs.
If your needs relate to your physical or mental health and/or a disability the best place to start is
- Your local GP
- Contacting your local Council adult services (social services) to request an assessment of your needs.
If you have complex needs arising from your health conditions or disability, we may be able to make a referral to a provider of specialist occupational therapy services, The OT Practice.
Disability related welfare benefits
If you think you might be eligible for disability related welfare benefits (e.g. Personal Independence Payments or Attendance Allowance) and need support with an application, review or appeal we could arrange this support through one of our independent Welfare Benefits Advisors.
